Session Description

Join Judit Vega, from The Esperanza Center for Peace and Justice, as she describes how  characteristics in artwork can be used to inspire crucial conversations on personal identity and heritage. Ms. Vega will also discuss how educators can utilize artworks to elaborate on the role art plays in reflecting life, expressing emotions, telling stories, and documenting history and traditions. During this session, participants will learn how to use responses to artwork critiques to make decisions about future project-based projects for the classroom that will impact the community. Participants will also investigate connections of visual art concepts to other disciplines.
