Since 1920, TMEA has worked to ensure excellence in music education for all Texas students. Over 13,000 school music educators are TMEA members belonging to one of five TMEA Divisions: Band, Orchestra, Vocal, Elementary and College.

Texas Educational Theatre Association

The TxETA, Inc. strives to use all the resources available to strengthen our teachers, and build on existing programs around the state to continue to improve the quality of theatre education in the state of Texas.

To promote quality visual arts education in Texas by promoting visual arts education as an integral part of the curriculum through professional development of knowledge and skills, representation of the art educators of Texas, service and leadership opportunities, and research and development of policies and decisions relative to practices and directions in visual arts education; to sustain and advance professional development; to encourage and promote the advancement of knowledge and skills.

The Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance is committed to the development of knowledge and programs that promote active, healthy lifestyles and enhance skilled, aesthetic motor performance.

Texas Foreign Language Association is to advance the study of languages other than English and their literatures and cultures through dissemination and publication of information and data; recognition of excellence in study and teaching; encouragement of program development and best teaching practices, including instructional technology; promotion of state organizations; and cooperation with regional, national, and international organizations also dedicated to the advancement of the study of languages other than English.

Texas Council For the Social Studies

The Texas Council for the Social Studies (TXCSS) is a nonprofit organization composed of a community of social studies educators and supporters across the state. We welcome educators and professions from a variety of fields including history, government, economics, geography, civics, sociology, anthropology, and psychology to our organization.

Texas Computer Education Association

TCEA (Texas Computer Education Association) is a global, nonprofit, member-based organization. We support the use of technology in education. Founded in 1980, TCEA has been playing a vital role in increasing technology funding and access for PreK-16 schools for nearly 40 years. Our 70,000-member association is led by a grassroots board of directors—all professional educators. TCEA’s resources support educators in the field who are enhancing curriculum with digital tools.
