About the Event
This webinar addresses the challenges that many schools face in meeting the academic, social, cultural, and emotional needs of boys of color. Tyrone and Jaleel Howard—both of whom study issues tied to race, equity, and teacher support and care—will identify root causes of many of the challenges and introduce evidence-based practices that school practitioners and leaders can use to create equitable schooling environments for boys of color.
Tyrone C. Howard is the Pritzker Family Endowed Char in the School Of Education and Information Studies at UCLA. Professor Howard’s Research examines race, culture, and educational equity.
Jaleel R. Howard is a doctoral student at UCLA in the School of Education and Information Studies. Mr. Howard’s research interests center around urban contexts and social forces that affect the educational experiences and outcomes for chronically underserved students.
